Inside the world of brass model train collectors, there are some clear favorites. These trains are very popular for a number of reasons. Some of them are the most valuable and the most sought after. This obviously makes them highly prized and wanted by all passionate collectors.

There are others that have a rich history associated with them. Either they have been around for decades, or they were crested for a special occasion. Some of the brass trains were created in limited number which obviously makes them collector's items.

The W & R articulated models are very popular with hobbyists and model train enthusiasts. These had to be imported from overseas and have proved a challenge to many people. There are also some very streamlined models that many manufacturers and importers have created over the years. These are also very popular with fans of the hobby.

Most people like to find a train that is unique in some way. It can be unique in that the detail is first rate. Or it could be that it was created to commemorate a special occasion. Other reasons for uniqueness center of the previous owner, a special characteristic or a special color scheme that was used in decorating the model train.

If the train stands out from the crowd then it's going to be wanted by many people. Also, other desired brass trains are those that are larger than usual. These make great pieces to show off if they are not used as working trains on the track.

Of course, if you can find a completely hand build brass model, then this will become an instant favorite with serious modelers and collectors. Most people are very interested if they hear a completely hand craft bass model is on the open market. It will create a lot of interest.

Other brass model trains that are popular tend to be something that is personal to the collector. For example, if the collector grew up in a certain area, then those trains will hold a certain space in his heart. Such a person is more likely to find trains that fit with his personal history and tastes.

The Northwestern line trains in the USA are very popular. This tends to draw collectors who grew up in that region who enjoy researching the traditions and the locomotives that ran on the original track. The old rural trains that ran in the English countryside are also popular. These trains give collectors a glimpse into the past.

Remember that brass models tend to have a higher degree of detail so they will generally be wanted by most collectors, providing they come from good stock. As you can see, there are many brass models that are highly sought after, so if you have the chance to purchase one, then you should certainly think about your decision. They are going to be prized for many years to come.
